Machine tool calibration can be employed to optimise path trajectories through on- and off-line compensation of anticipated deflections, which result from a process plan, assess the machine tools capability comply with geometric dimensions tolerances plan. This work presents measurement for identification static quasi-static rotational stiffness joint 5-axis machining centres. shall serve as basis towards translational well The novelty this lies partly in procedure stiffness, relies on multiple circular trajectories, comparison tools, is usually identified using finite element approaches. consists inducing load directly, an overhead factory crane, single measuring its deflection both three LVDTsLinear Variable Differential Transformers (LVDTs) Non-Contact Capacitive Probes (NCCPs).
